MM...apparently you missed the big scandal a few years ago. Members posted codes and when others entered it, their accounts were canceled because they were fake codes posted by the radio/TV stations....what we now call poison codes.

And although we know the members we can trust, there's still the possibility of a misspelling, which could potentially have the same effect as a poison code. So one post or confirmation from a trusted member is always good.

Also, so you know, this board cracked down on confirmations a while back because too many people were confirming and upping their post count. They later discontinued post-counts for these types of threads and now people confirm, but not very often.

I personally like at least one confirmation on codes (although trivia is less important.)

Dogo, Gofobo and Filmmetro are alike... you register and free prescreening movie tixs come up and you click on them and follow the screen information.. Print your tix and we see you at the movies... Sometimes Gofobo will give out a RSVP number and you enter that in the correct box they have on the screen...They might put a date up when it will be coming so you can receive and print.
These movies come up at all different times and days and some days not at all....'
Dogo, this is all they offer is free tixs to the movies...nothing else...

Peachie, thanks once again for the info. Dogo is the only one I'm not registered on. I asked just to make sure [I]you[I]guys knew about.....in retrospect it was kinda silly...of course you would know about them. I was just making sure. Another site I sometimes use is Goldstar. They have half price tix to various events in San Diego and even some free ones....but you probably know about that site too.
FYI....I have an ever expanding group of friends that I've met at these freebies, and we inform each other by email or phone when new movies are posted on any of the sources. I have them all in a folder I call "Flixpals". When I have info I BCC it to the entire folder, so everyones email is kept private. Some of us also get together for coffee or whatever when we can. If interested, I use the same name at the who. It would be nice to get to know some of you more senior movie fans(in experience on here....not years senior!....lol.)

Yea, I like the new guy, but am really sad they got rid of Gary Kelly. I liked what he added to the show in his music knowledge and the way he did the weather. They really didn't need another female, who seems to act so ditsy, doing the weather. After I get the code, many days I switch to see the 7/39 morning show on the weekend. I like Steven Luke & Rory Devine.

That's a good way to get 'tagged' (possible account closure) by the rewards program people, as being a Forum user/code sharer.

just to clarify that...
several years ago, many of the programs actively searched to "cheaters" and shut down their accounts when they found them. One way they did this was to plant moles on places like this and post special codes (what we now call poison codes) You got your points and the next day your account was shut down because they knew that you didn't simply get your code from the TV or make a simple mistake.

And things like adding an "e" to a non-functioning code is not bad in and of itself, but posting that you did it can raise suspicion, and if everyone else follows through, suddenly there are many "correct" entries when the entry posted on TV was invalid. A few would likely guess combinations, but not that many. (and yes, it's exciting to share these successes, but they're also risky...)

At this point, I'll simply use the invalid code and hope that CW recognizes that the invalid codes were supposed to be correct and credit us (like they often do with the morning codes that aren't working.)

After all, it's better to lose the points for one code than to lose your whole account. I've trusted Paniolo for years and I've never been steered wrong. So if it sounds like Paniolo is harsh sometimes, understand that it's really a way of protecting all of us!
