Why dont you send them an email and ask them to do just that, give you a heads up of the "prices" on the free stuff.....lol :disa:

I've sent that place so many messages about their screwed up system. They never reply. I never even know if they got my messages except that occassionally the admin will credit points or whatever. I was hoping that would be one of their new features.

Here it is, folks, the magic post #500! Thanks for putting up with my at times longwinded posts. There is always a purpose behind them! I don't have the chart in front of me, but I think my next star comes at post #1,000, so I've got a while to go for that one :naughty:

As for the others that are ahead of me and right behind me, here's a ranked list of the top 5 or so active posters here:

1) Paniolo: 808 posts (That makes you king of the recent posters! Congrats)
2) Cadetevon: 580 posts (Queen)
3) Me: 500 posts (Prince)
4) Gothic Girl: 452 posts (Princess)
5) PeachieGleem: 377 posts (not sure what that makes you)

And I'll give honorable mention to Reddogg1953 who has 110 (I'm picking court jester for you), but I'm sure he'll be overtaking a few of us royal folks in due time!

Thanks again for everything, you guys are all champions! :johnwoo2: :drums:

"Hi folks: This thread is old. Please use the 2005 thread: Sincerely,GAM"

I saw this quote on another Thread....Does this mean they will close this Thread soon too?

I think it's up to us...
This one has been around since 2002 and I was thinking it would be nice to close it and open a new one...then I thought again and decided that maybe it's better that some of that old stuff is sandwiched out of the way...but maybe not.

I guess if we do a new one, this week would be as good a time as any.

BTW...I'm right on your tail with posts, so watch out (although you seem to post 2x as many as me so it may be tough.)

----

We have experienced a technical problem with the Elektra Movie Passes. If you did not mark down a quantity in the blank "buy" box, you will have received an email with a confirmation alerting that nothing has been purchased.

I've heard from a friend that if you go down there they may give you a different set of tickets for something else that I never heard of...

That 2005 comment you saw was for the Star Freeloader thread. They start a new thread every year. With Fatwallet shutting down, there were 3 or 4 different threads started for Freeloader, so the moderator shut all but one down. That has nothing to to with us, unless everyone wants to start a new one, which I don't really see the point of.

I think Reddogg was asking if Dogopoly or Lunch Meat (the 2 that posted the PRINCESS code) entered the code in before posting it.--Ben Dogg :bandit:

Does anyone know If they are ever going to give us points for the weather trivia quaestions again? I always get the question right but I can never get points for it, the quote at the bottom of the page (Remember to get your couch potato points when server volume is low.) just upsets me and confuses others....lol :boxing:

It seemed like a good idea. They had a bunch of good potential trivia like sports, FITM then added weather and community. Now with the new servers they don't show you the categories.

I think the problem with the weather is that you only have 15 minutes to get it before they give you the answer, so it's unfair to guess wrong and everyone else can just wait to get the points.

A better way might be to give you the question each evening and tell you the answer the next day, but how many people really care enough to listen in the following evening for the answer to a "stupid" weather question (most people would think it stupid, but it's as stupid as trivia on Hollywood stars, etc that slews of people would pay to find out.) And, of course, for us true Couch Potatoes, we're there almost every night listening to the news anyway so it would allow us maybe TWO shots: bonus points AND a bonus give-away.

Anyway, for a while Ruben was doing the "around San Diego" segment where he'd go to different communities and talk about their history. I rather liked it (although I think he's just a ditz) and I hope they bring it back.

I thought they'd turn THAT into the community trivia, but it never happened.

Bendogg and i sort of met....passing each other and we didn't even

I've been thinking about this for a while, but how can we all anonymously meet? The problem is that if we announce anything here, a mole could easily just go and report all of us back.
I suppose that if we all used aliases, it would help, but then we'd start getting a bit TOO comfortable with each other and eventually someone would slip and we'd probably all be at risk.

Personally, I find the risk not too big since I really don't care about their silly prizes (although some are really nice to get), but I enjoy the fun of collecting the points and competing for those silly prizes (as strange as that sounds.) If I lost my account today, I'd be pissed, but would then move on with my life the next day.

All that said, I'd still rather NOT lose my account so I'll take necessary precautions for myself and others.

Well you dont try to get everyone together you only get a few at a time and you only get people together that have met each other or that can be verified by another member, for example I know you, I know miss X you dont know X but you trust me therefore we can all trust each other, but while your there you could use your apex name only, if it makes you more comfortable. I only meet with people that a senior member tells me is safe to meet with because I AM THE MOST PARANOID person you could ever meet. Also, I love my CP points too.

OK...maybe I'm just feeling left out because all you people seem to know each other from FW and nobody knows me :neartears :(

I agree. I've been complaining about him for 3 years but everyone thinks he's such a great coach. He gets a lead and tells his offense to stop playing. Well, that didn't happen tonight so I'm not sure I blame him for tonight's loss, but definitely the Indy loss and a quite a few last year.

I hope he's gone and the Chargers rock next year.

It does make me feel a tiny bet better Navyones, at least some CPs and others got to see a San Diego team win tonight! I went to the game and stayed dry. It was a gut-wrenching loss! :neartears :mad3: :censored:

We are a better team than the Jets and it never should have come down to overtime! If we came to play like we have most of the year, it's in the bag. But, we couldn't stop anybody and 17 points was not going to do the job. Shottenheimer WILL be back next year, and they are working on extentions for him and the rest of his staff. MartyBall must die!!! :fal: I am comforted a little by the fact that my brother and I got in for $40 each while most everyone else paid $85! I was so distraught I had to go to PB and dance it off! That's stupid.

The Chargers gave us a great season that none of us expected. It was such a disapointment to see them lose but overall think of how fun it was to watch them win so many games this season. I look forward to next season too. Just glad I'm not that kicker today.

geezzzz panache..I've been watching the Chargers for 20+ years now and it's ALWAYS the same ole' story...CHARGERS LOSE A HEARTBREAKER!!! hasn't matterd who the coach has been. Although, I think Shottenheimer needs his head examined for putting that responsibility on a rookie. Shottenheimer lost the game by his actions and decisions. Let em move to LA...they belong in Hollywood. Good Luck next year charger fans

2 pt conversion?? NO WAY. They lost it with lousy play calling in OT. Had 2nd and 1 on the first drive and made 2 incredibly stupid calls. Then, on 1st and 10 at the 22, made 3 consecutive runs for -1 yard. Shotintheheadheimmer :stupid: also gets a riduculous unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which directly leads to a Jets TD. I hope he fines himself! I don't care how good the year went, when you make bonehead calls and plays like that, that is what defines your season. GO PADRES!

dogopoly

You guys are all hilarious!

Shotintheheadinheimer? LOL

I expected 7 wins this year...it was fun watching them blow through the whole division in December. Reminded me of how they blew through the playoff to get to the Superbowl in '95. Was that a heartbreaker? I think it's hard to call a blow-out a heartbreaker, crackerwagon. They had an exciting year then and now. They just didn't go out there to win yesterday--they apparently went out to tie.

I really don't understand most coaches in the league who play so aggressively to get the lead, then in the last two minutes wimp out and sit on the ball to run out the clock. Real coaches would keep playing knowing that their quality players will not screw up and turn over the ball to lose the game! (And if they fail to succeed, they simply not winners--ditch 'em.) Martyball is wimp-ball. It takes confidence away from good players (although it adds confidence to weak players.) Ladainian needs a real coach to get even better, but I'm glad he's smart enough to tolerate Martyball and just go out there and be a great player. He's a true hero!

I don't think Fox would go to that much trouble to fix their own blunder. 3,000 points, while a very nice bonus for us, is only just over a week's worth of codes, so I don't think it is worth their time to adjust the points of the 500+ (maybe 5,000?) people who enter those codes in. FYI, RECIPE was supposed to be the 500-point show-up code for El Cajon.

Did anyone happen to get the Del Mar codes? I am guessing that they are different. Someone posted them on the other forum but I wouldn't touch them (or post them here for that matter) with a 100-foot pole! :spock: --Ben Dogg

If you like cruises, be aware that there now are many cruise lines with ships based in San Diego. With so many cruises available, every once in awhile ships have a lot of un-reserved cabins available.....available for much lower fares "at the last minute".

You can get on an email notification list for each cruise line....for cruises leaving San Diego that have a special fare. Once a week or so I get an email notification of some special fare or last minute deal.

I received just such one from Carnival yesterday with a special fare for an 8-day cruise to Acapulco in March...special low fare, plus a special deal that includes all port charges, and then also includes a free upgrade to a cabin with a balcony. I placed my order, and was given a further option of one deck where my cabin would be pre-assigned or another deck where I am guaranteed a cabin with a balcony, but I am currently not assigned a specific cabin. For this deck, if all cabins are taken as the sailing date apporaches, I will be upgraded even further, possibly even to a suite.

I got on a bunch of the mailing lists over the past 6 months by entering sweepstakes for free cruises at a large number of sites. These include the sites of the major cruise lines, and then the web sites of many of the trvael agencies that specialize in cruises.

My suggestion is to (1) do a search for cruises that leave from San Diego. You'll find that the cruise lines running from San Diego include Carnival, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, plus a few others. Then (2) go to each of their cruise line web sites and register your name to be on email notification for special sales, last minute cruises, etc.

Just as an FYI, I went to last nights showing of Oklahoma and it was FABU! It was well staged, acted, sung and all that jazz.

hey...we're planning a trip to Yuma to watch the Padres in March/Spring training.

Anyone know if CP has ever had tickets to the games there? they're usually only a few bucks, and the stadium is much smaller and you actually feel like you're part of the game. Of course, you have to go to Yuma, but we make it a fun weekend.

Thanks Reddog. Good point. If you TiVo'd it she said it right at the end of the segment where one of the actors from Oklahoma showed up on the set in his cowboy uniform. He did this cool rope twirling thing. Just after that Des was wrapping up and then said the discount Code.

Thanks for the effort, but you got the code word wrong P.palenschat. It's an easy mistake to make, but The Correct Discount Code is: WEST.

The code is good for a 50% discount on your tickets. I think they said the show is here through the weekend. The code aired about 8:45 a.m. for any of you TIVO people. That rope thing was pretty cool. It's 2:35 a.m. and I went back through Wednesday's tape just for you people! I have no plans to attend the show myself. Glad to be of some help. Now it's bed time!

Don't forget-- Gulls tix go up at 10 a.m. and I think these will go quicker with no Chargers game to compete with it. --Ben Dogg :amidala: :sing:

Thank You! You are SO sweet...

Now I can confirm that. I remember it made sense because the guy was in a western costume.

I'm not going to repeat the discount code because it's not a cp code. If you want to go to the show, just tell it to the clerk at the box office when you buy your tickets. I may just have to get up off my lazy butt and go to this show. It looked cool.

It's a fantastic production and is my all-time favorite musical.

As a side note...

OKLAHOMA! was the a ground breaking musical because it was the first time that the songs actually were part of the story line.

Prior musicals contained music and songs, but they were not esential to the story, they didn't actually move the story along.

If you take the musical numbers out of OKLAHOMA! then you lose half of the story.

I could be a OKLAHOMA! fangirl. It's sad, I know.
