Certainly understandable Paniolo, I wasn't even aware that you read the FW board... good to know. I think the reason no one could confirm it is cause it wasn't on at the normal times (7:29 p.m., 10:59 p.m.). I guess Fox likes to throw us off every once in a while.

Anyway, here's that list you were referring to. I'll go ahead and re-post it. The original was from the week of 12-28-04, or quite a few pages ago. Most of these people are no longer posting here, but here goes anyway. Finally, these post totals from FW are not current, but as of late December '04. It's not a matter of someone being 'cool'. I do wonder why 'tb65' has not spoken up for herself as to what exact time/program she heard the code, since no one else did. Just because you've been posting consistently on a Forum for a while does not mean others cannot ask for confirmations of you. No valid senior/long timer objects to that.
It's 'my' policy that safe is better than sorry. If I haven't actually seen/heard it myself, I don't use it...unless I get at least 1 senior/long timer confirmation that I trust. It's just not worth the measly 100-200pts.

Many of you may be unaware that this past week several VERY senior Forum members lost accounts on KGB, KYXY, & FOX/CP. I will not name them. It is their choice to come forward, if they choose.

This is my final posting that I will use up public thread space on this topic. It comes down to an individual's choice. But beware, no one is above reproach. It can & will happen to you, if you blindly trust the postings on these Forums. Just keep your guard up, & be vigilant.

There is definately a dynamic crew here, but that's what makes it interesting. I never hear anything bad from friends that have Tivo. I always hear complaints from friends who have the COX DVR. I myself have had about 5 bad DVR's and I'm now on my 4th HDDVR. My current one will give me a "the unit will power off in 5 minutes. Press any key to continue" message, but pressing buttons does nothing. The unit then resets instead of turning off, cancelling anything it was recording. Before that, it would record but not let me watch anything. Before that, it would just randomly reset itself. There was also a couple that had HD failures and I lost everything I recorded.

I never hear anything bad from friends that have Tivo. I always hear complaints from friends who have the COX DVR. I myself have had about 5 bad DVR's and I'm now on my 4th HDDVR. My current one will give me a "the unit will power off in 5 minutes. Press any key to continue" message, but pressing buttons does nothing. The unit then resets instead of turning off, cancelling anything it was recording. Before that, it would record but not let me watch anything. Before that, it would just randomly reset itself. There was also a couple that had HD failures and I lost everything I recorded.

I love it, but I hate it!! :throw:

Anyone who's interested in a DVD player with basic TIVO included then check this unit out. I purchased it from Best Buy last year for $199 but it came with a $50 mail in rebate so total was $149. I allowed me to have my DVD player and TIVO in one unit and I got rid of my VCR to clear up space. My entertainment center looks much better, not as much clutter:

The post was a code word that you get by visiting a location. I recall 2 posts for the same word and they said something like "so and so" worked for me. So, someone from Fox posed as a real member. Many people entered the word and next thing you know...accounts are canceled. They are sneaky because they allowed the code to be valid rather than the usual "invalid code or expired". So, a few more people probably entered it unknowingly. I think it's very messed up. :angry:

I wasn't sure what this post meant, so I went to the KYXY thread and saw that RIVERWIDOW posted the code "CHOCOLATE" first. Tinkerbell65 then confirmed it along with Coaster, so I'm not sure if the "CHOCOLATE" code was a poison code. If RIVERWIDOW did see the code and post it, then she wouldn't be worried about it being the poison code...just my thoughts.

As a previous FW member, I'll put my two cents in.

Cent #1: I would trust a code from either Tink or Coaster, let alone both of them confirming the same code.

Cent #2: I believe it is total coincidence you lost all your points after entering CHOCOLATE. These moles are more devious than many of you think. We have already had people confirm that poison codes are accepted by the system. Therefore, these poison codes are sitting in the database for someone at the station to check for anytime they want. If I were wanting to catch as many people as possible and protect the mole at the same time, then I would give the poison code the appearance of a working code and also punish the individuals days after the code was entered. Then we'd all be scratching our heads wondering who the mole is...sound familiar? :disa:
