Rubens antics with making the chocolate bunny reminded me of Paris and Nicole's antics with making cakes yesterday. The difference is that Paris and Nicole screwed up on purpose to annoyingly entertain viewers whereas Ruben does it just because he's a screw-up.

That's what's interesting about all the points programs for all the stations. There is something for everyone. Some people like to have a free DVD when they can, others like free movie passes, and others like local event tix such as for the Gulls and Padres.
Still others like to save their points for something really special that will require thousands of points. Last month KyXy had an auction for a weekend trip that had a couple of people bidding in the area over 1 million points. They sure had some patience to collect points for so long.
Rick on KFMB says that later in the year they will give away a car. Not sure if that will be via auction, grab bag, or what.

It's true that they are giving out t-shirts and the such, but to skate with the Gulls you have to pay like $4 for the honor, and you either have to rent skates (on site for like $3 or so...really cheap) or bring your own.
But for the money and the fun it's TOTALLY worth it. You *literally* skate with Gulls players and they all have sharpies so the kids can get autographs. w00t! :)

~Wow I never saw that about the Car, really makes you not want to miss an Op. to collect your points you know! CW, Yeah, I knew you were kidding, so was I! I fully agree we deserve 1,000 points for sitting through that damn show. And yes, actually having to pay attention to it (instead of just rewinding through it) is worse! I don't bother Fox with stuff like this, especially as they would just point me to the 'Where To Get Points' page and say the Fox Rox code isn't listed there anymore. -- Ben Doggy Dogg

 In China everyone celebrates their birthday on Chinese New Year's Day. It usually falls in January (this year it fell on February 9), but the actual date moves because the Chinese calendar is different than the Grigorian (the one we use). According to the Chinese calendar, it is the year 4702 (the year of the Rooster).
Chinese calendar has been in continuous use for centuries, which predates the International Calendar (based on the Grigorian Calendar) we use at the present day which goes back only some 425 years. The calendar measures time, from short durations of minutes and hours, to intervals of time measured in months, years and centuries, entirely based on the astronomical observations of the movement of the Sun, Moon and stars.
There are three ways to name a Chinese year:
By an animal (like a mascot). The new year is known as the Year of the Rooster.
There are 12 animal names; so by this system, year names are re-cycled every 12 years. More. (http://www.chinapage.com/newyear.html#animal)
By its Former Name.
The new year is the year of Yiyou. By this system, the Name of the Year is repeated and re-cycled every 60 years.
http://www.chinapage.com/yr2005.gif
It is Year 4702 by Chinese calendar.
But, according to the Jewish calendar it is the year 5765. And you thought Chinese culture was old; we have 1063 years on them.
Numbering of Jewish Years
The year number on the Jewish calendar represents the number of years since creation, calculated by adding up the ages of people in the Bible back to the time of creation. However, this does not necessarily mean that the universe has existed for only 5600 years as we understand years. Many Orthodox (http://www.jewfaq.org/defs/orthodox.htm) Jews will readily acknowledge that the first six "days" of creation are not necessarily 24-hour days (indeed, a 24-hour day would be meaningless until the creation of the sun on the fourth "day"). For a fascinating (albeit somewhat defensive) article by a nuclear physicist showing how Einstein's Theory of Relativity sheds light on the correspondence between the Torah (http://www.jewfaq.org/defs/torah.htm)'s age of the universe and the age ascertained by science, see The Age of the Universe (http://aish.com/societywork/sciencenature/Age_of_the_Universe.asp).
History lesson is now complete. You all passed with flying colors.
