You guys are all welcome! I'm glad to still be able to contribute here. With work so hectic and a general lack of a big incentive to get CP points, I don't go after/enter every code every day like I used to. Once you get to a certain point points-wise, it's like how many more do I really need? However, when the codes also enter you in to win trips and stuff, that's incentive enough right there!
The point of that diatribe was that I count on you guys for the other codes and contribute where I can, the way a good team like ours should work!

No, but they did give him some hats and shirts, I watched them deliver the prize this morning. BTW any that doesn't know, when you win the showcase, they call you the night before and set it up with you time-wise and all. I think that is due to the fact that a couple of show cases ago the guy that won wasn't at home when they got there...So they started confirming it with you the day before so you'll be there to accept the prize..!!!

Is Fox every going to get a reasonable amount of decent prizes? Compare this program to the KFMB program, and I wonder why I bother entering codes at all. I have more points than I could ever use in mugs. Maybe i should just showcase them all away? Is this normal for FOX?

Every program is different, but CP was originally based on the Star-100 (KFMB/now Jack) program.
Jack's VIP program (carryover from Star Freeloader) has lots of prizes that sit there then suddenly go up without warning. These also tend to be very expensive since they typically go over 25K points, with many over 40K, and you only get about 5K points a week.
Fox has much cheaper prizes and more ways to get points, like purchasing stuff from their affiliates. Because of this, the prizes tend to come and go more frequently.
If you don't like their prizes, it's probably because their affiliates are not to your liking. Call Fox and tell them the companies that you'd like to see work with them. If you like cosmetic surgery, tell them to get more dentists and they'll play those commercials to death.

Let's see what the new showcases are on Monday, what does KFMB have?
I was wondering why the guy from MotoWorld was there, like they already knew what he was going to pick.
Fred must've really had the ins for the good freebies.
I'd say just like at baseball games, the giveaways aren't up to the team/station, but the sponsors/advertisers.

I would have to disagree with you here Jester. Fox gives away many more prizes than KFMB, and better ones too like all the dvd's and movie screenings to name a few. What's not to like? I'm still waiting for something decent on KFMB. BTW- has anyone noticed that Jack FM prizes are pretty much identical to those on KFMB?

The movie screenings come and go in a matter of minutes, and then there is not even a guarantee that you will get in. I had tickets to a History of Violence, got there 35 minutes early, only to be shut out of the event that I had "purchased" tickets to. The rep promised I would be sent replacement tickets to Domino, but do you think I ever heard from them? The raffles on Fox6 are a joke, with the number of points times the entries being indicative of the vast number of points available with nothing to do with them. For instance, here is the current KFMB prize recap:

Jester, we feel your pain, but FOX also gives away trips to Hawaii, Cabo and Disneyland (see prior post), without even entering a contest...just by entering a code that gives you additional points.
Each program is different with different sponsors that offer different things.
Again, contact Fox and offer your suggestions for sponsors.
Also, regarding the movie passes, they state that seats are limited and you should get there early. Most people arrive an hour early because these same tickets are often given by at least two other sources (usually radio stations.)

I agree with you on what this points program has to offer. I'm not able to sit at my computer at work & wait for them to release prizes...Prizes that for the most part are only released during most people's working hours. I think that KYXY,Jack & yes even KGB have better programs & offer far better prizes. However, it's all in what you value as far as prizes. I,myself, could care less about movie passes-unless I'm allowed to go whenever I want. The only thing I've gotten out of this is Fair tickets....But it is my choice to continue with this program. Who knows?? Maybe someday I'll win the "Big Prize"!!!
I say that if you think you're wasting your time on this program-then stop-or you could look at it like I do...It's just fun & games...plain & simple. I hope my sharing in your pain somehow helps. "It's All Good"...:agree:

Jester, we feel your pain, but FOX also gives away trips to Hawaii, Cabo and Disneyland (see prior post), without even entering a contest...just by entering a code that gives you additional points.
Each program is different with different sponsors that offer different things.
Again, contact Fox and offer your suggestions for sponsors.
Also, regarding the movie passes, they state that seats are limited and you should get there early. Most people arrive an hour early because these same tickets are often given by at least two other sources (usually radio stations.)
Well, I have yet to win a trip to Hawaii, Cabo, or Disney with Fox, so maybe I would change my outlook if I did. The movies have limited value, as they are all overbooked, and you have to go when they tell you, for a specific day, and then an hour early at that, still with no guarantees. The prizes tend to go up mid-day, when I am rarely sitting by the computer to check, so many come and go.
Looking further at the Taboo raffle example, there are currently 1454 raffle entries at 500 points a piece, for two tickets. That is over 700,000 points chasing after a raffle. Why not just make them 100,000 points or whatever, and provide enough for those that have points that want the prize?
However, your point is well taken that this should be taken up with Fox, I just wondered if this is the norm, and how other people felt about it. Maybe I just had a stressful day yesterday, and Fox was in my crosshairs. I do believe my concerns are valid though, so I will put an email out to Fox inquiring about enhancements to the prize page.
Have a great evening everyone! :argue: :poke: :splat: :smash:

jester, your points are mainly correct, but very few programs really know how to deal with 50,000+ people competing for prizes. First, they need to have enough prizes to satisfy the masses, then they have to have some incentives to stick around, then they have to have the staff to handle the program...and Fox has not always done the best job at any of these.
Anyway, a while back I started a thread to discuss what would make a good program. I encourage you and others to post your opinions here: http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85815

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang tix are up now!!!!!
still up 35 minutes later...
either:
1) people don't realize it's there
2) people don't really want to see it
3) people are holding out for the other movies playing at the same time

Stop by Express Tire @ 3690 Murphy Canyon Rd. today from 10 a.m. on (Mission Valley near Aero Dr. & The 15 I think) to pick up a free pass for 2 to Derailed (the suspense thriller w/ Jennifer Aniston), which screens on Thursday 11/10 @ 7 p.m. @ AMC La Jolla 12. Good luck!
