Yes, several of us (all of us?) had problems yesterday. G|A seemed to be up and down all day.
As for a backup, that's always good, but G|A's record of being up is pretty good, probably at 363 days per year, so if you miss a day of codes, that's probably not a big deal (especially if you're already getting them yourself as it seems that you did this morning.)

I had the unit for over a month before I finally collected a few codes. I got three in the next month, and then I quit. The daily download prize might be okay. The "prizes" you get with the codes aren't worth the trouble to me. I returned the box. Too bad I wasn't aware of the types of prizes available before I even hooked the system up!

If what I've seen so far ar the prizes, it's not worth my time to take the USB deice and plug it into my machine! (And that only takes a few seconds...)
For one thing, I never know when I've captured something so if I plug it into my machine then log in, it takes several seconds just to tell me that I got nothing. So far I have seen no useful rewards. If this doesn't change soon, I'll have a really cheesy bookend ;)

thanks for all your replies about the giftzclub, and i agree so far that this unit is a waste since i haven't collected anything. i considered hooking it up to a tv tuned to fox6 24/7, but now realized that doing that would be a big waste of time, electricity, and money!

I have mine connected to an old VCR.
You also have to make sure the bottom green light is on. That is done by pressing buttons on any remote control. So I don't have to keep doing that, I also have the audio hooked up to a infrared headphone transmitter pointed at the box.
I get the big green light on several times a day but only upload it once a day to enter for the $50 drawing. I already have every offer possible so multiple uploads would do nothing.

I also found out it will "capture" commercials without having the USB connected.

I'm bored with it though. After the daily $50 giveaway is over, unless something better is offered, I'm done with it. For the TV drawing you only had to activate it
