bad, bad, bad.

yep, people have been complaining for a week now i think. if using IE, hit escape (thanks whoever originally posted that) and it quits flashing.

hit ESC or click on the "STOP" button in IE. That will stop it.

Too bad the trick doesn't work in Netscape. :P

yeah, a big thanks to the people who alerted us that "esc" or "stop" would halt the flashing.

otherwise, i would have had a seizure by now

Anyone care to time these puppies? :eye:

According to the ADA guidelines (http://www.access-board.gov/sec508/guide/1194.22.htm#(j)), displays that flicker, flash, or blink can't exceed 2 Hz, or 2 flickers/second.

Sic some legal action on 'em! :P

it appears the really obnoxious ones aren't running today.

the ones that are up aren't nearly as bad.

however, i would be curious about whether those old ones met the ADA guidelines that juju mentioned

good point, as the link that juju provided applies specifically to federal government websites.

however, doesn't the americans with disabilities act (ADA) cover all public spaces (i know public buildings like churches, schools, etc are covered). since Got|Apex (or most any other website) is a "public space", it seems that ADA would still apply....but i have no idea of how all that stuff really works

I would gladly donate to a Paypal fund rather than have to see the damn banners.
