Skimming CompUSA's weekly ad online tonight, I saw the following...

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=293415

I have no idea if this is a mistake or not, as of the time of this posting, the price is showing as $0.00, and my receipt for the order shows $0 + $5 shipping. I have not gotten my Sunday paper yet with the actual paper ad.

This is most likely a mislabeled pre-order since Shallow Hal hasn't even been released yet.

lurker just e-mailed me:
they have Jimmy Neutron at $0.00 too...nothing beats another free DVD (if this actually works out)...

cool, if I knew before I put in shallow hall dvd, i might've done both...
but i'm not gonna put another 5 bucks for shipping...

if you do both, shipping is a TOTAL of 5 bucks.

Somehow I don't think this one will come but I ordered both movies, a copy for me and one for a friend. Four DVDs in all for $5.35. Not too bad.

Thanks for the deal

My order got through and approved:

"The following order (#WB36xxxx) has been approved and is currently being
processed. You will be notified via e-mail when your order has shipped."

Now what's the history with Compusa and price mistakes?

This will definitely be interesting. Kind of the flipside to the $52,800 Harry Potter DVD they were selling last month. Their terms and policies basically states "any time before we ship it to you we can change the price" so I have a feeling tomorrow we'll get the cancellation notice. I'm staying cautiously optimistic though-- the error wasn't there THAT long, they may just ship em. :)

Mine's authorized too..

Thank you for your recent request to order either the Shallow Hal DVD
(SKU #293415) or the Jimmy Neutron DVD (SKU# 293416). Unfortunately,
the online version of our ad dated June 30 - July 3, 2002 contained a
typographical error in which both DVDs were listed as FREE. The
correct offer, as our national circular states, is $16.99 for either
DVD. In accordance with our terms and conditions regarding pricing
errors, we have not shipped either product. At this time, you may
either cancel your current order or agree to purchase this item as
below:

You win some, you lose some.

Now I'm waiting for some website to start up a class action lawsuit for this pre-order screwup. ;)

shallow hal sucked (except the part with the tail), and I havent seen the other.

in michigan, retailers are responsible for their prices and must honor the price that was displayed. If they dont honor it, they can be fined. Is there anyplace that says their policy protects them against mispriced items? Has anyone from michigan ordered one? I would email them the michigan law and see how they react.

Personally, i wouldnt even pay the shipping fees for shallow hal. it was soooo poor
