and why...
:argue:
I like the playstation controller. I consider it near perfect. Not too big or too small and just enuff buttons. I prefer that to the homemade gaming arcade controllers that people made for street fighter. Going to mod my pc for one. Now if only can find where I put my ps1.
Sentimental favourite is the old Atari controller. It was cool with its one orange button and joystick. When we used to break it, my Dad would come home and fix it. We'd than go back to defender or tank pong.

sentimental - original NES, or the Gravis GRIP controller (computer) - lotta time in college spent on those.

i still enjoy the n64 controller the best, the p1/2 controllers never fit my hands wel enough to be confertable for any extended amount of time, plus the Z trigger and the lil joy stick made really good games like goldeneye and perfect dark very smooth and easy to control.
note: i take controller over keyboard and mouse any day.

Yeah, I think the N64 controllers were the best I've used. I think Dreamcast controlers are very similar though... The only thing I really hate when it comes to controllers is when the controller has more buttons than I have fingers... that never made sense to me... :disa:

GameCube Wavebird controller! It takes the superior GameCube controller and cuts the cord. Wireless perfection! :love2:

I can't believe you guys like the N64 controler. The yellow C buttons where useless, the other buttons where cheap, the rumble pack took batteries (ya I know, BATTERIES, how retarded!), the analog stick is horrible compared to the new ones on the next gen systems, and umm... oh yeah, the cord was horribly short. Oh and it had three handles, how dumb is that? God forbid, a game would be able to use the digital pad and the analog stick at once!!!
N64 controller was good. The c buttons were useful, geez, didn't you ever play Smash Brothers or Tony Hawk? I like the PS2 controller now but I hate using he joystick on them, i think they're retarded. I also think the gamecube controller is terrible.

Old version for the PC:

I love this controller. It was THE thing for playing emulated ROMS. Back in the day before joystick emulation, all the emus had keyboard input. This joystick was perfect for games with lots of buttons, like Super Metroid. I was also lovin it playing Final Fantasy VII on my computer (no gamepad support). It uses a PS2 keyboard passthrough, and all the buttons were mapable keys.

dont play 50 feet away from the tv...

its perfect people with larger hands can use the outter 2 while smaller hands use the middle and right

why would you need to...

i really dislike the DreamCast controller
there isnt enough "space" between the two "handles" and the main body of the controller, so that when I play, my knuckle is jamming against main part of the controller. i ended up with some funky calluses (sp?) after playing NBA2k1
sentimental favorite: the NES controller and all of its OG directional pad glory

You'd rather use that than another analog stick like in Halo?
-the other buttons where cheap,
not really.
Yeah they are, but I guess thats subject to opnion.

I guess I kinda agree there, but I hate how it was made of hard plastic and not rubber. The Xbox typeS are heads and tails above the N64 tho.

here's my gaming setup:

The N64 is moved to where the NES is now. The pic is taken from my couch. I can't sit comfortably on the couch and play the N64. It's unreasonable to ask for a decent cord?

If I remeber correctly, one of the best N64 games, Goldeneye requiered you to do this. I remeber getting pissed that I'd have to completely let go of the contoller, reach around the other handle to hit the dpad.

I like the old Genesis pad. It had six buttons in two rows. ABC and XYZ buttons laid out perfectly for playing Street Fighter.

x2-dual sticks require both thumbs taking your controll off the buttons and no the left and right c provided way better straffing then 2 halo

x2-you just mash the crap out of it and its fine on ur fingers

x2-well im sorry but you are wrong. normal setting on bond and perfect dark set left and right straff analog stick to movement, A to change weapon , B to open door and reload and R to aim which was also added by the top and bottom c.
also the game cubes controllers C thing is much harder to use in any kind of speed versus the 4 c buttons.

I guess at least 3 grand including games.
xsiled2- I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but think about this, why has no new system copied the N64 controller design but instead copied the dual shock?

I liked the Saturn controller a lot (1st gen, 2nd one sucked). ABC on bottom row, XYZ on top row, and 2 shoulder buttons. Nice and simple and perfect for capcom fighters. Dreamcast controller is pretty nice too. Really comfortable for my small hands and it was cool choosing football plays on the vmu. :)

Toss up between the XBox S controller, the PS2 dual shock, and the wavebird.
The S Controller is a good size (compared to the damn normal controller) and fits well in my hands.
The dual shock is just the most comfortable.
The Wavebird because it's the best wireless controller. Ever.
