yeah. my roomies don't see the worth in broadband, so we're paying like $18/month for phoneline and we get free dialup through UCLA. bah. but i'm not paying the $50/month all by myself so i have no choice. it felt weird to have to go to bestbuy and buy a modem. but i guess it's better than nothing. :shrug:

I guess between you and your roomies, you don't have 3 computers between ya huh? Cause on dial-up you'd only be connecting one at a time.

you can share dial-up connections.., i have some friends that share a dialup connection amongst like 3 or 4 roomies :P and the SBC/Ameritech deal, wasn't that for a limited time? $29.99 for like 3 months or so only.. and also its restricted to certain areas.
