So i was bored...

and thought i'd do something i've been meaning to for a while. I modd'd my NIC and brought the data LED up front and connected it to one of my many hard drive lights, Now i have a red light to know if the computers on, A blue light when the hard drives workin' and a green light when the network card is transfering stuff.

ive wanted to do that with my nic for a long time. did you just connect the leds to the nic or did you need any resistors?

neat. i might try that sometime but my router thingy is on my desk and the puter on the floor so i couldnt see it anyway.

the nic had 2 leds in a package, i pryed it off the board, removed one of the leds and connected it back to the "Connection established" LED, and connected two wires to the other one and hooked it up to the front. If i had a camera i'd show you.

sounds like a cool idea, I never though of doing that, but I always have a switch that my PC is connected to on my desk so I can see that...
