Just wondering which is better? I need a new phone service. And I'd appreciate it if you'd state why as well

I live in SD and I have Verizon and my roomate has AT&T (We both use to have Cingular but they totally suck) Verizon gets better reception and service but the phones for AT&T seem are a little cheaper and if you aren't a heavy cell phone user, AT&T has a cheaper plan that gives you less minutes, at least they did a couple months ago.

I was in the SD area two weeks ago and I had Verizon and my friend had AT&T. I had coverage everywhere I went. He suffered from a lot of dead spots.
