Help! - Trying to file share with new router/firewall

My company has provided me with a router/firewall so that I can access our intranet through my broadband connection. Now, I get booted out of MIRC sessions before I even get on a server. I have to believe it's due to the router. How do I discover the information about my firewall (i.e. the TCP port, etc...)

My current solution is disconnecting from the router and connecting the cable feed directly to my Desktop PC to use file sharing programs. Not much of a convenient solution for me, but at least I have function again...
