Oh great! I've been happy with my Yamaha 16x10x40. Then you have to come along and post something like this. I've figured that the time saved burning wouldn't justify upgrading. Then you have to post a deal on a 48x burner. :pfft:

Yet, I think my resistance is still holding out. :D

I got this drive a couple of weeks ago. It is a great drive. Comes with a full version of Nero. I'm able to make perfect working copies of games with cloneCD. No need for "No cd cracks", although I use them for convenience. Don't pass it up if you've got the cash.
Got mine for $69, cuz' Dell screwed up the shipping and gave me $30 off.

I already have the Lite-On 40X12X48, but I ordered this one and a Lite-On 16X DVD. The total was $110.17. I'll just do what I always do when they arrive. Put the fastest in my computer and trickle down the other components to other computers.

I just bought a CenDyne 32x12x40 (rebadged Lite-On 32x12x40) so I am not goin' to get another one but it's a very good deal! I bought the Lite-On 16X DVD-Rom for $33.xx though.

How are the DAE rates on the Lite-on CDROM Drives...just the regular ones. not the dvd one.

I just got the lite-on 40/12/48 with lite-on DVD 16x 2 months ago when there are stackable coupons.

I have a question, is 48x certified media already available?

Pfft - doesn't matter. I burn at 40x on 4x rated media. Give it a try on whatever you have.
