good find.

I will be staying away from this one though, becase they are the ones who really started the random popups last summer, and I refuse to buy from anycompany that uses that form of advertisement anyplace besides their site. Good find though

check out the latest pc magazine. they did a review on the x10 and it's rated as one of the worst.

In EVERY test I have ever seen the X10 is the worst, especially in low lighting situations.

X10 is also a home automation thing that lets you control lights and appliances in your house remotely.

The cameras might suck but the switches are fine.

X10 isn't an device, it's a company that rebadges electronics. They don't build any of there own stuff. Their switches used to be RCA manufactured, I dont know who makes their stuff now.

I use their universal remote all the time-its awesome. I have tons of remotes (lots of different types) but don't use them anymore because my new appartment is set up very well. In my old apartment, light switches and outlets were positioned in strange places, remotes were great in that situation.

Anyway, I've always been very pleased with X10's products and customer service. And their old "get a pile of stuff for $30" deals were cool too.

I agree completely with ribitch. Too bad I like their products and too bad they resort to popups. They were very generous when they released a patch to stop their popups for thirty days. They had some nerve to invaid my computer and then make me install a program to temperarily stop their popups. I will never go to their site again because they install spyware. I tried everything to get rid of them and when I had to reformat my harddrive, I was finally free of them.

$19.99 is a deal? A few years ago they were giving the Firecracker kit away (you only had to pay shipping).

Clicking on the below is supposed to shut off their popups for 30 days:

speaking of annoying pop-ups. I switched browsers to Mozilla (if it even matters anymore) and Mozilla has a pop-up blocker. I have not seen an x10 pop-up or any pop-up or pop-under for that matter for months. double IE will ever do that. just thought I would add my 2 cents.

i love adaware. I run it on the system i use at work. Many people use the system and it often gets canceled when they log in(its forced to run on login) Today the system had 137 pieces of spyware. I switched systems later in the morning, and when I just got back on now (around 2:30) it had an additional 27 pieces of ad ware. Its a definite must for all winblows users

Yup..I got the firecracker kit when it was free a few years ago. It's great. I didn't like the remote control GUI when u installed it on your computer. I don't think I'll pay $20 bucks for it though unless it came with more switches.
