Check out this guy, he made 2 "clones" of this subwoofer for his home theater room:

I studied that link about building these subwoofers. You know, none of this is rocket science! With a few hundred dollars worth of toolsand probably a couple thousand in plywood, speakers, etc. it would be possible to duplicate these Bad boys.
What could possibly make them worth over 20 Grand?

yeah, what that guy did didn't look too unreasonable. i mean, i'm not handyman, but i think that could be done on a smaller scale without too much trouble.

maybe someday when if i have enough space/$$ to build a basement theater like is in that other thread, i'll put together one of those subs for my theater :D

hmmm only 22,000 bucks. not too shabby for speakers. i mean it wont look too out of place with my JVC QX1 :P.

Apex, i just had an idea, why dont you put out one of those "Ultimate Home Theater" guides like those tech tv guys. at least i know you wont come out with anything like a "Home theater in a box" in your guide. of course yours will probably run 100 grand at least, but i would be to die for.

When your ears start bleeding. actually, i dont think subs can do that, can they. i think super high frequencies would do that.
