View Full Version : star wars question (don't look if you haven't seen ep 2)
so i watched episode 2 for the billionth time...and i see c3p0 hanging out with the lars family...and i'm wondering:
why is it that uncle owen doesn't recognize him and say wassup in "a new hope"? in fact he starts asking about the binary language of evaporators. or why doesn't c3p0 say something? he seemed to notice annakin when he saw him...so one might think he should remember old uncle lars and aunt beru.
Its another plot hole Lucas is going to have to fill in. Hopefully he can fill them all in with the last movie.

hers one - why isnt both the robots technology obsolete over two generations lifetime?... would be like freakin comodore 64's running around in a robots or something.

even a computer from ten years ago can run win95 and office. Maybe they're so advanced that theres very little progress in that area.
Well seeing that it's over 20 years and that there are probaly thousands of protocol droids like C3-P0 I would guess he just recognize him. As far as C3-P0 not saying anything well I assume Lucas will fix it to where their memory gets fried or erased somehow.

Maybe he just doesnt give a damn. Many people in teh Star wars universe hate droids. Maybe he buys/sees so many he doesnt notice.
C3PO actually is supposed to get a memory wipe at some point in the future, according to a book I read.

There were a couple of instances in the movies where C3PO's memory is suspect. If I were to venture a guess someone will wipe his memory when the maker starts doing bad things.
still seems flaky to me. c3p0's memory is one thing. who is gonna blank out owen's? and even if he buys droids all the time, it's kinda iffy to say that if they had the same name that he wouldn't notice. that would be like if you buy a lot of cars all the time, you wouldn't notice if you bought a gt500 with the same license plates as one you had before. it'll be interesting to see how he patches it up.
I don't remember my last phone number. 'Nuff said.
