I recently used Partition magic to create some new partitions(duh?) on a new computer. The new drives came out fine but they are now the f and G drive, after the two CD roms that are installed. I tried to use Drive mapper to change the letters but they only let you change to open letters. Is there another utility I can use to change the letters so that my drives are C: D: E: ??

Thanks!

What OS are you using?

If its anything but XP just right go to the drives properties in the system properties window.

if your running xp then open up computer management (Start Menu -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management), Select the "Disk Manager" on the left menu. Here you should see a list of all your drives, right click on them and you should see a "change drive letter" option. Switch the cdroms to like m: and n: then switch the drives to d: e:. Now go back and switch the cdroms to f: g: or whatever you want. Gotta swap them.

Just switch your CDs to Y and Z then switch your drives to D and E.

I am using Win2k. I don't see the drive properties window that you speak of. Are you talking about System in the Control Panels?

Thanks.

Happs, I click on Device manager, and I double click on the drive but I don't see anywhere to change the Drive letter. I know I have done this before I just can't remember what app it was. Oh well thanks for your help.
