Just don't install that other software during mid-setup process. Its some accelerator or some crap. It has its ups and downs. Hogs a bit of system resources, and slow. But eh, it works.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to "share" 5 gigs worth of stuff before you can use it, no?

you're right and wrong. it depends on the server you connect to. many of the public ones require you to "share" .. and some are upwards of sharing at least 10GB. but there are a few *ahem* that don't require it i think. :) i think the "private* ones are better, because you don't have the public people who drop by only once, and never come back.

Ahhh... well, I've never used it... I'm just going by what friends have told me...

its a cool program if you download from NICE peepo, most peepo are jerks and only share because of the minimum requirements and when you do connect and start downloading from them, they kick you off, also, if you're uploading, downloading's BW takes a beating, so its hard to be nice and get something at the same time, especially big programs or movies

i just stick with mIRC or Kazaa nowadays

Well, I think it depends on your connection...

My college uses a T1 for the dorms, but they capped it... 200 KB/s down and 20KB/s up... That's why it was always so hard for me to send files... if they hadn't put the cap on the line, I should have been able to send a file and receive a file at the same time and still have pretty good speed.

As it was, people could be downloading from me at 18 KB/s, and I could still download at 180+KB/s... It's still not fair for them, however... because it is a 10 to 1 ratio in my favor... but that never bothered me before! ;)
