I use creative labs playcenter. It came with my audigy and i really like it. It supports AC3 music and the EAX extensions can be used here.

I mainly use winamp... but I use Music2Match for ripping and sometimes playing...
I have some friends who use Sonique, but it just seemed like too much of a resource hog... I like my music to play in the back-ground, not to be the MAIN program running.

what is encoded in AC3? The software wouldn't install on this system, but installed when I was using Win2K. :(
and Ladagoboy, Music2Match? is that the same as MusicMatch Jukebox?

i use iTunes or apples finder and quicktime
ac3 is a digital audio output. There is also aac, which is MPEG-4 audio. It is better sounding than mp3 and the file size is smaller.

hey I have that too but I didn't know there were AC3 and EAX music.. i thought only used those playing games.
I usually use winamp, but sometimes use my remote and turn on the creative one =) it is kinda annoying though cause it is hard with so many songs to find it using the remote and also adding new songs i am not sure it detects it unless i reimport the list =P

EAX can be used with any program, you just have to set it in the EAX control panel.
I use Music Match.

Very little, I'm affraid. There's some game soundtracks, and a few hobby stuff...I've found some jazz a techno here and there.
I really enjoy sitting ppl down at my computer and having them listen to some of the ac3 music-very cool-5 separate sound locations.
I wonder if XM radio can download and decode AC3...

my old hardware dvd decoder outputted 5.1 in ac-3, which then could be run to a reciever or whatever. It sounded really good, but my DVD changer sounds much much better

Winamp mainly. It has a lot of cool plug-ins which makes it a very versatile program.
Sonique sometimes.
Music Match Jukebox. Although, I have the free version, so it takes a little while to download.
Cool Edit Pro when I wanna fiddle with the .wav file.

it let's you adjust things like treble bass and all that. And it actually works damn well...
the 6.1 (not sure if it's still beta or not) allows you to have different settings depending if you use headphone or speakers...it makes the mp3 sound so much clearer...

MusicMatch. Very easy to learn and it can do anything. I tried WinAmp a couple of years ago then got turned on to MM. Ain't going back.

Winamp. Works the best for me and it's the easiest mp3 player for adding hundreds upon hundreds of songs at once and the songlists work better than any other app out there IMO. I also listen to Shoutcast stuff a lot...mainly Wolf FM, AnimeFM, and a couple others.
