Does anyone know what the atx measurements are? I now have access to a machine shop and I'm going to try and build myself a standard-ish axt case out of aluminum. The problem is I can't find plans or even the atx specification. If anyone can point me to either of those (case schematics preferable that way I d on't have to make my own ;) ), I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Not to poop on your parade, but if you're going to go throught the trouble of building a case from scratch, why just make it "standard-ish"? Standard cases are plentiful and cheep. I say if you're going to do a custom job why not use the frame from a cheep ATX case and build a cool custom shell?

Just my $0.02.

that's a pretty good idea..
or a lotta cases have the removable motherboard tray....

that's the only "standard measurements" you really need, and just build around that...

... or buy your motherboard and measure off of that? THEN it'd be custom.

Thanks for the ideas, guys! I think I'm going to go with the buy a case and build a shell idea. that sounds good. :)

Notice he said aluminum...those aren't that cheap...even if they are non-modded cases.

My friend made a case from a wire frame crate and plexy glass. It was so sweet.

That's what I did. I got a really great case with a flat front panel that was easy to carve up. I've frequently thought about building a new case (cutting holes, covering vents, and adding fans and windows) but I cant find a cheap case with as much potential as my old Enlight did.

No, he said he wanted to BUILD an aluminum case, not buy one and mod it.

I was suggesting he buy a cheep-o regular case and build his own custom aluminum shell around the frame.
