Any views on this unit? Here is what I was able to find out. The info on the web is prett skimpy. Must have a pretty small user base to date.

It is currently on sale at costco.com for $1500! Seems like a nice price from first impressions. Here is the link. (http://www.costco.com/frameset.asp?trg=subcat%2Easp&catid=79&subid=2341&hierid=2343&log=&NavTop=)

Damnit, I never understood why everyone liked widescreen so much over regular 4:3 aspect ratio tvs. I can't stand watching programs with the two sides blacked out. Don't like watching home movies in widescreen format either. :)

I like Mitsubishi. They make good TVs and VCRs. And pretty decent cars.

Anyway, I am considering getting this daewoo for $1500 or a refurb Philips 34pw9817 which is also a 34" HDTV 16:9 unit. I just can't decide between the new Daewoo or the refurb Philips. Same price, but which is the smarter move? The Daewoo is from costco and the Philips is from an online retailer.

Any ideas welcome.
