View Full Version : What kind of paint should be used for painting/illustrating on PC cases?

I don't have an aluminum case or anything, just one of the general "got it for about $40" cases with the plastic front piece, metal panels on both sides and one on top. I have heard before and know that some paint doesn't allow air to pass through it but some model paints or something DO...I figured I'd ask here since a lot of you are or have custom built cases/done paint jobs and mods etc.
Thanks in advance ;)

Use some automotive spray paint for that shiny luster! :)

use auto paint.
sand, sand, primer, then paint. If you're going to paint any type of plastic though, visit your local autozone or pepboys and buy Vinyl Dye, that's the good stuff. good luck.

Exactly, what sho.gun said.
Take off the old paint, wash the surface with rubbing alcohol, then primer and paint. One last thing...auto paint doesn't get its hardest until about 8-12 hours after it looks and feels dry. I made the mistake of installing my sidewalls onto my chassis too early, and the corners got chipped.
