Of course there are others; just wanted your ideas on what appears to be Cool in Today's society.

But seriously, I think a lot of things can be macho.

A guy that sticks up for women is macho to me.
Not necessarily a construction worker, but a man who is willing to work and make honest pay for an honest day's work and who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.
As for looks, as long as he doesn't have prissy hands, anything else is ok. Macho can be suit & tie, jeans & tshirt, whatever. How he carries himself is the most important part. :)

short hair or hey HAIR period (preferably black-with a bit of grey)
flannel shirts that come off after chopping wood for a half hour..
NO HATS-HATS SUCK..especially on older guys
NO EARRINGS-earrings are for girls
a simple gold chain plain or with a religious item
NO PINKY RINGS DAMMIT
good teeth are macho..and of course..all riding in a nice chevy pickup with a couple of chocolate labs or golden retrievers in the back. :)

i think macho and cool are entirely different concepts.

there is some overlap (ie people can be both macho and cool), but being macho doesn't automatically make you cool.

that said, i think there are 200 different kinds of "cool". sure, working in an office, wearing the latest from j.crew, and driving a bimmer (or beemer) is cool to some people. to other people, that's preppy and retarded, and they prefer mullets, jacked-up pickups, and scuzzy bars with bud light on tap and judas priest blaring.

as for macho, i'd go for construction worker, shaved head, driving a pickup, with 0-5 earrings, depending on the guy

Macho Man does not wear earrings or any other jewelery (except a wedding ring).

Macho Man has short hair. He does not wear it as an adornment. Nowadays a shaved head is often used to hide the fact you're starting to go bald. A true Macho Man is not afraid to lose his hair.

Where ever Macho Man works, he works hard and does not waste time posting on boards (oops!)

Macho Man does not wear a cap, unless he needs to keep the sun out of his eyes. Most men wear caps to cover up their messy unwashed hair. Macho Man's hair is short enough that it doesn't get messy. Macho Man DOES NOT wear a visor backwards and upside down. That's too stupid to comprehend.

Macho Man drives a paid-for car or truck and fixes it himself.

Macho Man is married and defends his wife's honor and purity, and speaks highly of her, even when she is not around.

Macho Man does not care if you think he is a macho man.
