so, today, i noticed that my right speaker is outputting the left channel, and the left speaker is outputting the right channel. this has proved to be very detrimental for my counter-strike playing. haha.
anyway, i have a sb live! 5.1 and logitech z-340 speakers. anyone have any idea how i can switch the output so i don't turn the wrong way when i hear footsteps? oh yes, i'd rather not physically move the speakers around.
thanks in advance

there should be an option to switch stereo in the sound options for the game. i havent seen an option to switch output in creative utilities

thanks for the reply, i checked in the game, but tehre were no such audio options. hmm.. i thought that i saw something like 2 years ago in the creative software that allowed this option, but i can't seem to find it. anyone else?

Why not just reverse the speakers on your desk?
Sometimes the low-tech solutions work best.

hmm i have the z-560 and Audigy and I think yours is similar, make sure your wires in the subwoofer is correct... did u do the sound test to make sure the left and right is right for everything and just wrong for the game or wrong for everything, if wrong for everything then switch the speaker wires connected to the sub.. if only for the game then the game should have an option i think, i can check when I get home...

i can't seem to locate an option for it inside of half-life, but maybe i'm an idiot. which is very often the case, ask spig. i tested the speaker using the creative audioHQ so it's not just the game. but it's a no brainer that i have the speakers the wrong way because it isn't consistent with the picture on the box. it's just that i would prefer to have the sattelite with the volume control on my left side. the connector to the sub has only one wire that looks like a p/s2 connector, so no go there. .........................:P

almost all the speakers ive ever used with the volume control on the speaker have the control on the right side speaker. i do remember one or two with it on the left, but its usually the right. maybe you do have it set up wrong.
also the pic on the box isnt always correct.

the thing is that having the volume control on the right side is the correct setup, it's just that b/c of the cable legnths, it's more convenient for it to be on the left side for me. all i'm looking for is a way to flip it in the software config somewhere. heheh. i never imagined this to be such a problem. :D

I have an idea, go to radio shack and buy a longer cord so you can have it on the right side! Heck...only 5 bucks for peace of mind and kicking A@@ in CS beacause you can tell where the person is, is worth it to me!!!:D
