Why can't I sabre kill in Jedi Outcast Mulitplayer?

Some of you that play this multiplayer...

When I fight someone in Jedi outcast, some ppl can kill me in one swipe, while I take forever to kill them. Can anyone give up some hints on sabre combat?

Also, what power allows you to NOT be force pulled or force pushed?

Haven't played JO in a while, but from what I remember there are 3 styles of sabre fighting. I could be that the people are killing you using the strong style as opposed to the normal or quick, hence the one swing kill. Personally, I preferred the normal and quick style since the strong requires expert timing due to the slow swing rate. I wasn't the best at sabre combat and I'd usual play the Light side, so I usually made sure Force Heal was maxed out so I could jump into the fray and retreat and heal when needed.

Force Push is a must also. Not only can you stop folks from chasing you down, it's the only way I know of to counteract someone's Force Pull. As far as I know of there is no way of countering Force Push. Pull might work, but I never got around to trying that.

You may want to consider starting your own LAN server w/ bots just for practice. That way you don't have to worry about extremely inconsistent playing styles or ping times, which is my last tip. Having DSL/cable or a low ping can affect how well you do online. Just something else to consider since it may be more your connection than your playing style.

People probably kill you in one hit using the back stab, when someone is behind you press back and fire, instant kill. Just dont be stupid and run around backwards all the time, when you see somene, quickly turn around and do it.


However..........with the new update, this has all changed. It is nearly impossible to kill someone in 1 hit now. It takes forever to kill them even using the back stab.

ya backstab, usually you want to use the yellow, because it goes in an arc or if you use blue, turn while you backstab.

and for the force push you have auto force defense or something, and it'll automatically go against someone else's force. but if you are jumping, using the force, or sabering someone can force push/pull you



but I didnt' know there is a new update so I don't know how it is anymore
