What is a good software to use to edit audio.
Basicly what I want to do is remove the vocals and
lenghten the duration of the music.

CoolEdit 2000. There are tons of versions out there. I use 2000Pro. Very versitle and it allows you to choose compression codecs.

Here's another vote for CoolEdit 2000.
I use it to pull the audio track from my video cam when I shoot my kids' concerts at school; they get a charge out of listening to their own shows on their CD players.
