there's a great deal on a $70 Logitech Cordless Mouseman Optical right now at Best Buy... and I'm really in dire need to upgrade my ball mouse to optical, especially for gaming.

Anybody have this mouse. If not, what you have, and what would you recommend?

I use the logitech optical, it's just fine for gaming, as long as you aren't a super twitch player. Just in case, I leave my USB mouse plugged in, because sometimes XP loses the connection, or on the off chance the battery dies on me. But I've had no problems gaming with it; single player, online, you name it.

I've got it and it works great. (I'm not a gamer.) I replaced my corded Mouseman with it. Once I got used to it, I could never be without the 4th (thumb) button (I have it set to open Explorer).

Got my dad's logitech cordless mouseman optical for $35 at officedepot awhile back. I tried it out a few times for counter-strike, but I still prefer my corded and balled ms intellimouse.

okay, based on some of your good recommendations, I got it at Best Buy for $30 after rebates (check it out, still going on, BM only). this thing is bad a**, I love the sensitiviy. software tells me battery power, and is expected to last min. 2 months with ni-cads.

I gamed with it (MOH and America's Army) and see no loss of resolution. i love the feel too.

to those that have one, question: why doesn't the red optic turn off when computer is off? wouldn't that save on batter life? thanks for the feedback guys... i'd like to hear what others are using still.

You'll love it. If you're talking just about the mouse, actually you should be able to find the keyboard/mouse combo for just a little bit more (Logitech Cordless Freedom Keyboard and Optical Mouse). Cordless for both is the greatest.
