After visiting some website today, not sure which one anymore since I go through hundreds of them looking for freebies, a site did something to my system. It changed my font in IE6. When you look under Internet Options and click on FONTS, what is your font set to? My says Latin Based. It is driving me wacko, because I am already visually impaired, and I'm having an even harder time now getting it back to normal. WHAT is the normal font?? Somebody help please... Thanks in advance!!

I had a problem similar to that once and after hours of trying to figure out what the heck happened, I realized that some of my fonts had mysteriously disappeared, leaving me with only the italicized versions of Arial and Times New Roman.

The setting that you are referring to (currently mine says Latin Based, web = Times New Roman and plain text = Courier New) only affects pages which do not specify a font or if you have IE set to always ignore font styles and sizes under Accessibility.

But you might want to check your font list and make sure ARIAL.TTF and TIMES.TTF are still here. I'm still trying to figure out where mine went. :)

Seqiro, that is EXACTLY what happened to me earlier! I was starting to think these webmasters were making crappy pages, THEN I started to think my pC was infected!! But when I was using my yahoo mail, I noticed the font there was different too. I can fix it now, thanks to you and Ladodaboy. Thanks SO much, you two!!!

Ladogaboy, I need your help again!! I am having problems seeing some words on webpages. It just happaned last night. See the picture of the font setting your provided me with? I have my PC set exactlye like that. BUT, under the plain text font, where it shows "Latin" my box is empty. I have set and reset the fonts, but still I am having trouble reading pages. Some of the webpages letters are missing, even though I have it all set just like in that pic.

Any ideas??

Yes I did, the other day. And on my Yahoo Messenger, the names of my peeps are not appearing either.

Are you British, Asian or subcontinental Indian? Hate to sound racist but at my school the only people who use Netscape are foreign comp sci TAs. They seem to have an unnatural attraction to it.

Just wanted to update and let you know that I got the problem fixed. I have NO idea WHAT was wrong, so I rebooted a few times, and aparently, it 'fixed' itself. For now........ :)
