I've spent the last month or so with a UCLA summer travel class in Europe and thought Iwould say hello. We've spent time in Berlin (Deutschland), Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Österreich, and Salzburg (Österreich)...and now I'm back in Berlin, the classes are over, and all of the fellow students are gone. It's been sad saying goodbye to good friends, but this is my favorite city in the world, and I only have a week alone in Europe before flying out of Amsterdam. I hope life is going as wonderfully for all of you guys.

I've used 5 rolls of film and bought another today, but I'll definitely come back. I actually ran out of money a while because I lost my wallet back on July 6th. Fortunately my credit card company got me a new card quickly, and my parent's sent a copy of their ATM. I had a week of leeching off friends here before I paid them all back and became my usual extravagant self. It's been a blast, and I suggestz all of you spend a few weeks in Berlin. After graduation, I think I'm going to come back to Berlin for a year or two and teach english to elementary students (there are a number of these programs available for american students after college) before law school. I believe Berlin is the best city in the world...

I'm really not willing to wait until September for Oktoberfest. I also missed the Love Parade (which is basically a rave that covers all of Berlin for a weekend) by 2 days when we went to Prague, but we were here for all of the World Cup excitement...which I'm sure you can imagine. Turkei got pretty far (and is the largest minority in Berlin)...and Deutschland made it all the way to the finals. I actually doubt you could imagine the insanity around finals time. It was awesome. I'll be here for the Oktoberfest and the Love Parade next time though because I am pretty sure that I'm going to move to Berlin after I graduate for a year or two. They have programs where they give free housing and pay you about 30K to teach elementary school english to german students. It isn't a lot of money, but it would be a great experience...
Enough typing...I'm hungry. I think it's Döner Kebap time...

Make that Amsterdam now. This place is pretty chill and cool from what I've seen. Definitely the flattest country ever! But I guess that's what happens when most of your country used to be submerged beneath the ocean...
So much weed here too...well, hash actually...but oh well.

Just jump on a plane and remedy that situation. It's only about a grand for round trip, and hostels are as cheap as 17 bucks a night. The double room I'm staying in with some random Canadian chick (tall, cute, nice accent, met her this morning and she asked if I wanted to split a room) is 25 per person per night. It's not an incredibly expensive trip...and what else do you really have to do with your summers?

ProMinx,
BERLIN ROCKS!!! I've been at the Loveparade this year and it was so great. After LoveParade we went to a club called "Freischwimmer" (which is in Berlin-Kreuzberg). All i can say: I've been dancing there till 8.15 am (yes, in the morning, some of my friends even went to an after-hour afterwards, but i was too exhausted). It's the greatest location on earth if the weather is nice. It's on two sides of a small river with small bars and places where you can dance or sit and both sides are connected by a free floating bridge.
Another place you have to go to in Berlin is called "Kurvenstar" (Berlin-Mitte).
If you want to experience a rave party like the loveparade, go to Zurich in Switzerland on the 10th of August. It's basicially the same but it's called STREETPARADE. If you have the time I definitely recommend you to go there (I'll be there).
Have fun in Europe,

Falafel cannot beat Doner Kebap. Nothing can...at least...nothing for 2 bucks. I love that Doner Kebap place halfway between Zoologischer Garten and the Erotica Museum by Ku'Damm. But I'm actually in A'dam now, so all of the standard Berlin locations are a bit out of reach. Maybe I'll check those clubs next Summer.
