I just finally got mine in. I picked up the 40x's for $7x and a couple DVD players for $33. Didnt need the 48x's for $20 more that most people got.
Dell postponed shipping twice. I think if I had chosen standard ground for the free shipping, instead of next day, I would have gotten it sooner. They gave me 2 chances to cancel and the 2nd time they asked me to reconfirm the order or they would cancel it. I could have gotten a similiar drive for a little less(mir) but I figured they were trying to renig on the deal.
Those lite-on units shipped in boxes with no tape or shrink wrapping. Is this how they are sent or did they send me someones return. They look like they are new but since dell was bsing me, telling me they were out of stock, I want what was paid for, brand new drives.
I know a bunch of us got in on the deal. Can you tell me when it shipped and the condition of box/wrapping/tape?
