Ok. I have 2 pieces of ironwood in my inventory but I have no idea what the hell they are used for. Any tips? I'm still inside Neverwinter city on the first chapter.

You need them to upgrade certain weapons.

I'm guessing this doesn't happen till later on in the game? Also, I have these boots I can't identify. Where do I spedn the 100 gp to identify them? I can't figure it out, i'm dumb :)

One thing about this game that somewhat bugs me is the enormous amount of books and literature acquired while playing. I think it's great that someone took the time to write all of those stories, but really, what are all of those books worth?

Leon, did you take the time to read all of them? or did you just simply throw them off to the side and forget about them? :hmm:

UT Memo - You can start upgrading in Act 1 in the City Core. Ironwood, Adamantite, Diamonds are harder to find, so hang on to those. You can identify stuff at any merchant or the local healer.

coleslaw - Most of the time I just pick it up just to see if it's a quest item. If you don't want to keep it, then make sure you put it back. Otherwise, if it's a quest item, and you chucked it somewhere you can't remember, you're jacked.

I finally beat the single player. My character is a level 20 human ranger. I wish I had known more about the D&D rules before I started playing so I could have avoided buying stupid powers like "parry" which were utterly useless.

Parry is useless? Back to the drawing board with my Paladin "Rev'Rand Luvjoi"

Ya I seem to have worked up a lot of useless skills like....Lore, who cares, only 100 gp to identify an item. Pickpocket, screw it, I just kill them. And I worked parry up a bit too, damn mean. I'm only Level 7 Rogue though.

Yeah, since parry is based on Dex, most Paladins should not bother with it. Paladins should mostly concentrate on:

-Power Attack (only because you need it for Cleave)
-Cleave (VERY useful)
-Discipline (keeps you from getting knocked on your butt)
-Knockdown (useful when you are surrounded)

Those are the ones I mostly use. Persuade will help you get more treasure and money, which is relatively important. Also, you should pick a few weapons you like and choose Weapon Focus and Improved Critical with them. I chose the Longsword and Greatsword for those. Exotic weapons will let you use the bastard sword, katana, etc.

Useless skills (for Paladins):
-Power Attack
-Improved Power Attack
-Dodge
-Parry

I have never hit anything other than a chest with Power Attack.
