OHHH...I so loath Apple.
The message here... Mac OS X is better than the OS Microsoft had in 1997! Get out there and buy it!

apparently you didnt notice this wasnt a professionally done video. it was some guy playing arond with iMovie or something, and decided to create his own commercial. this isnt a real ad. sorry to disappoint you.

No. I noticed. Don't be sorry. It's obviously not production quality, it isn't even a digital copy or analog to digital copy of the original...it's a clip from years ago...Ya, Apple didn't build it, but it IS served on Apple's webserver.

It is on an apple owned server. apple doesnt control what the individual subscribers put on the servers. It wasnt directly uploaded by apple, and apple probably has no or little knowledge of its exsistance.

MS should show a movie of me in 8th grade when I formatted the harddrive of the Mac at school by dragging the harddrive to the trash bin on the desktop.

dragging a disk to the trash unmounts it. formatting a disk requires the use of a disk utility program similar to fdisk & format rolled up into one package. You cannot format a volume that is the boot volume as well.
To format my hd, i have to network boot, cd boot, or firewire boot. a normal boot from my harddrive will not allow me to format that drive. I can drag the drive to the trash, and it will try to unmount it.
mounting & unmounting a disk is a common way to use it in mac, unix, and linux. Windows is the only OS to my knowledge that doesnt require you to unmount a disk before you eject it.

I still think its funny that it confuses the hell out of some people when they see the drive icons there but theres no disk in the drive when they go from a mac to a pc.

hehehe, i never thought about that. thats funny. it would be even funnier to watch somebody repeatedly clicking the floppy drive icon and getting the annoying error that it gives.
