Can't you make this a dynamic disk within WinXP so that it appears as a single 200GB drive?

for the price, you cant expect the drives to be new. this price is similar to a 80GB FW drive.

refurbished drives are inspected more than a normal drive is. most dead drives arent refurbished. refurbised items usually tend to be returns.

for the price you cannot complain.

Unless someone finds out the brand name of the hard drives in question, I think I would skip on this deal. With my luck they would be a pair of IBM Deathstars... :(

If only this unit had an Ethernet connection...

I've been looking for a relatively small, monitorless NAS device that's not too expensive.

Well, if you want a NAS... get an old SNAP server on eBay and drop in some bigger hard drives... ;)

Here's a good article at ProCooling (http://www.procooling.com/articles/html/hack_a_snap__server-_joe___10_.shtml) on how to do it.

I'm not sure how much NAS servers usually cost, but check here (http://65.241.40.23/brochure/nas3000.html) . I'm almost certain that you don't have to purchase the HD's from them, you can put your own in. Their main site is Einux (www.einux.com)
