So, I go to work last night and within 2 hrs....

A 5 yr old boy running around uncontrolled by his parents, ran smack into his mom's cart when she was checking out up front. He gave himself a black eye and a vicious cut above his eye. He was bleeding rather badly, so an ambulance was called.

While the assistant mgr was taking care of this situation, some lady decided she wasn't going to pay for her stuff. So, security was taking care of that (needing the mgr again).

That would have been a normal night, but THEN two guys come in and attempt to rob the place, but since Metro was there picking up the lady, they were stopped. The mgr was needed once more -- this is the sad part...

One of the guys had some dope on him and took it out of his sock and put it ...umm... well, in a cavity. Right there in the front of the store!!! In front of the mgr, in front of the kids and other customers!!! Apparently if it's there, the cops can't search him to take him in on drug charges. :disa:

But then!!! the bag broke!!! And apparently he has sezures!!! and the drug OD and reacted with the meds he is on for the sezures!!! So another ambulance was called (and for some reason, a fire truck came too...) for this guy and his sezure!


/me chants "I love my job!" repeatedly....

Actually I feel for the mgr... this all happened within 30-45 minutes.

2 nights ago my 4 yr nephew ran into what he thought was an open sliding door. Lots of blood. New scar. Not the brightest thing he's done. That boy is getting to be more like me everyday :D.

As far as the rest of the rest of story, what a night. What city is your store in cuz they should feature you guys on "Cops."

BTW be careful chriss, if its always that bad you might want to get another job.

Yeah it was a night. Before I was working there, an assistant mgr was stabbed by a shoplifter :eek: so it could have been worse!!??

I work at the Wal mart right across for Nellis in LV. It's been at least a month since it's been somewhat bad.

I guess I found out why one mgr carries pepper spray and his cell on him and another wears a bullet proof vest.

No, it's not the job that can make me crabbie (well, okay sometimes :P ). Crabbie is the nice way my husband tells me that I am being moody.


As for being in "da hood", yep. It is. Used to be nothing around the AFB here. Then they built up a bunch of cheap housing. And a Walmart. With that combo, :shrug: what else is going to happen??

DF, that Kroger sounds very much like what goes on here, but add a few guns here and there.

I just try to help people as they come in and out of my dept (and try not to stray far from it) and hopefully they remember I am a nice person. :angel:

As for finding another job, eh. I could walk to the store in 5 minutes (but I don't). I make just as much as I did at UPS.

Dunno. I just need to survive there for a year until Donnie and I go live somewhere else. They have some good benefits I want to keep and need to keep with Donnie getting out of the military next year.

my job is easy..i cut lawns. takes lots of skill. the only things i encounter are hot girls, mean dogs, picky people, and that stupid blade...almost took off my foot! lol :)
