Referred to by its code name, Jaguar, Mac OS X v10.2 is a different breed of operating system. Jaguar combines the rock-solid reliability of UNIX with the ease of use of Macintosh. This version of Mac OS X is as innovative as the computers that run it. And whether you’re a Mac user who’s upgrading, a Windows user who’s looking at switching to the Mac or a UNIX user who loves the idea of using key applications like Microsoft Office on top of a state-of-the art BSD UNIX implementation, this is the OS for you.

Mac OS X v10.2 is loaded with over a 150 compelling new features — like an instant messaging client that’s compatible with AOL’s, an enhanced Mail application that lets you filter out junk mail, an address book that’s an activity center for all your contacts, and a full-featured search engine so useful that you’ll soon feel lost without it.

Mac OS X v10.2 also features QuickTime 6, the next-generation multimedia standard with support for MPEG-4 video. Quartz Extreme, the hardware accelerated, fully composited graphics system, gives it souped-up 2D and 3D capabilities. Plus a significantly enhanced Finder with spring-loaded folders. Rendezvous, a revolutionary technology that lets you create an instant network of computers and peripheral devices. Not to mention a host of features and capabilities that will impress hardcore Unix users.

iChat The best way to IM.
Mail The end of junk mail.
Address Book Many contacts, one book.
Sherlock 3 Web services for the rest of us.

apple is just as bad and greedy as microsoft!

it used to be their policy to only charge for past .5 OS updates (as in if you had 10.1, 10.5 should be free but you would pay for 10.9), but they turned right around and started charging for 10.2

ohh well, i don't have a mac so i don't care :P

I've noticed CompUSA has quite a few price mistakes. They will have a regular price that is higher than the sale price or an Internet Special that is higher than the regular price.

Hmmm...

Note what category that is in: Home >> Software >> Operating Systems >> PC Compatible

I can run OS X on my PC for only $82,000? Cool!

it is only like that because SO many people buy PCs that dont know even how to turn one on, they wouldn't go out and buy a MAC.

I am not going to flame MACs or you ribitch, I just really think that study is way off because the numbers game. If they took off all the stupid PC users and only looked @ power PC users, well there will still be more of those users then MAC users, then do the study and see who is "Smarter" :P

I hate how mac users try to show their smarter based on a statistic. Just remember if the average inteligence is 100 IQ points, half the people around you are below that number, i'm sure plenty of morons use macs as well :P

What are you talking about??? The Imac was designed so any neanderthal with a half working brain could operate it. And who the hell buys a computer because of the color anyway? (And yes, that's exactly why Steve Jobs colored them...)

Don't even get me started on the loopy b*tch for a sales rep we had at Sears.

That's only because they don't sell them at Wal-Mart

i never said the study was accurate. I just threw it up their in response to the traitor remark. I ddint plan on getting this sort of response.

The one button mouse is simple, and i hate the bastard. mine is thrown into the back of my closet, and have no plans on using it. I may ebay though.

i see the flaming of macs has moved out of the hardware forum over to the software forum because the attempts to flame were ignored.

I personally know three people who have macs and shouldn't be using a computer period, much less operate heavy machinery.
