Man...that's too bad! I read his book "Gifted Hands"....and he's an amazing guy. I hope he gets through it ok. He's helped a WHOLE lot of people.

He was the first person to seperate Siamese twins that were joined at the head.

Man that sucks. I read his autobiography as a kid. He seems like a great guy. :(

A ghetto kid from Detroit who overcame low grades and "pathological" anger by turning his life over to God, avoiding a "victim mentality" and "using my brain to make good choices in life," Carson has inspired a generation of youngsters with his speeches and books.

That is just incredible. I really admire people who can come from difficult backgrounds and avoid victim mentality.

oh wow... i remember reading "Gifted Hands" in high school. my mom told me to read it cuz she wanted me to be a surgeon like him. anyhoo, back then i wasn't a christian and reading his book made me think about how hokey christianity was. it wasn't until years later that i understood some of the things he was saying in his book.

but dang, to hear that he has cancer now...i hope things turn out well too.

Awesome!

This guy's faith is inspiring. And to still have the heart and motivation to continue helping to heal others...
