Wither

Your foundation crumbles beneath you and you go tumbling
No choice in the matter

Winds of fate blow this way and that
Taking you along for the ride
While slowly down you go

All around you your brethren drift
The same fate in store for all
And you wait

You hope for a soft landing
But storms are deaf
To the wants of a simple leaf
