ok so he had on a funny hat-but is that any reason to make fun of the guy? POOR ADAM (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=638&ncid=762&e=1&u=/nm/20020813/en_nm/crime_britain_ant_dc_2)

"LONDON (Reuters) - Former British pop star Adam Ant Tuesday admitted threatening pub customers who laughed at his cowboy attire and mocked him by humming the theme tune to spaghetti Western "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."

Goody Two Shoes... among a few other less well known songs.

He actually had a pretty good album later in the 80's/early 90's, but it never got any air play. I was never much of a fan, but an old friend of mine liked his later stuff quite a bit.

The album was Wonderful...a really mellow, introspective album.

He had many hits, Goody two shoes was just the biggest. He wasn't ever as big in America, but had quite a following. Also a pretty good actor, I remember the episode of The Equilizer he was in - he played a freak.

Manners And Physique. The radio station I was working at the time played the heck out of it. But we were the only ones...

Anyway, I met the guy, and I can personally verify that he is nuts. Not the "cool" kind of nuts like Ozzy, but the scary kind... (I've posted this story before, so it may be a rerun for some of you.)

In 1990, Adam Ant was trying to make a "comeback", had a new CD out and was going to be performing in Minneapolis at a small club. A friend was the artist rep for MCA Records (Adam Ant's record label), so she invited me to have dinner with her and Adam and go to the club.

I met them at a really fancy restaurant. He was very polite and well mannered, not at all what I expected. He seemed like the stereotypical "English Gentleman". We talked about music, his dogs, politics and stuff like that. He was constantly checking his watch and looking at the door. I finally asked what he was waiting for. He said the airline had lost a piece of his luggage, the case that contained his stage clothes. He was waiting for them to deliver it to the hotel.

After dinner we rode in the limo to the club. By this time Adam was really getting bugged. It was very hard for him to keep up with the conversation, since he was so nervous about his luggage.

At the club we were just hanging out and having fun, when my friend (the record rep) runs up to me crying. She says she needs us to come and talk to Adam, because he's really freaking out and she can't control him. We get to the backstage area and we find him laying under a bench in the fetal position in kind of a catatonic state. Luckily, the airline dropped off his luggage minutes later. The dude changed, and it was like he was a totally different person in his stage clothes. He went on stage and put on a great show.

Where was that? I might have been at that club!

What station did you work for?

It was at Ruperts Nightclub, the 1990 "KDWB Star Party". We had all-access passes and got to hang out backstage with a bunch of (now) has-beens and one-hit wonders (Calloway, The Jets, Adam Ant, Michael Bolton and others I can't remember.)

At the time I worked at WTBX in Hibbing.

yeah. I'm almost positive I was there - a friend of mine gets star party tickets every year. I also remember being quite drunk.

I don't really remember much more than that.
