I thought about this for a bit and it really is not worth it to post deals anymore on this web page. There are too many people and if there every was a chance to get something for free, the sheer amount of people applying for it kills deals. Since I posted this deal, the traffic on said site went up and everything was harder to win a bid on. Not only did I screw myself out of free merchandise but then I get crucified by several people for posting a ref, even though I posted 2 links, but then these people then continued to report my user name to said website and get my account deleted, and everything I previous bid and won on cancelled. Thanks guys. Next time I have a website that gives free stuff, and is actually fun, I will be sure not to post it here. Thank you very much.

And to the posters who think that they are gods gift to Apex, you are nothing but losers. You are the people who got beat up in school for being a teacher's pet. And if you are going to report someone, get the damn facts straight. I didn't send out "hundereds of emails spamming". Get a life.

i posted it so people didnt have to use me as a refer, though i appreciate it ugly. this really is an awesome site though. you get 100 points free everyday for logging in and with the 100 points, you can get a tshirt no problem. so visit the site every day and get a free tshirt every day!

Since there are only 2 sig lines in this thread, I'll assume you're talking to me. There is no referral link in my sig. There is a link to 2 of my websites. There is nothing to sign up for on these web sites, and no 'clickthrough' banners... how does that qualify as a referral? You get 25 points per bid which is kinda cool. Bid on the low stuff that's not closing for a while and you can rack up a few extra points pretty safely.

I've got no problem with people posting a referral link along with an alternate, non-referring link. Heck, if the guy found the deal, why not allow him the opportunity to get credit? What I DO have a problem with is people trying to sneak their referral links into messages, deceiving people into thinking they are clicking on normal links. Although, ahem, its apex's board not mine so he can do whatever the hell he wants.

No referrals in the Hot Deals forum is Apex's rule. Apex has done a great job with this site (Leon also) and we should all respect him and his rules. (rather simple rules at that)

It's not a gray area... Posts like this have been locked in the past, or the referral link has been deleted, leaving only the 'non-referral' link. Browse around, and look at some of the locked posts, and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's black and white---> NO REFERRALS.

You know exactly what I mean Jeepers. You get mighty defensive when someone is jumping down your throat about something, don't you? Well, how do you think it makes others feel when they think they're doing the right thing by posting a deal, and you slam them. There are other ways to get a message across than slamming it down their throat. If Plethora was a repeat offender, I would understand taking a more agressive approach. But this poster has no such record. Actions like this will just turn off new members and pretty soon, you're going to find a pretty lonely board.

You don't find this derrogatory in any way? Then you have a problem. To get back to Jay-I have been contacted. They give you a link to enter your shipping info. Hope I get my stuff. I've seen some high bids for the stuff. I've been able to get the hat for 305 and t-shirt for 400. If you get 10 coins for every 1 dollar you spend at an advertiser, that would amount to 30.50 for the hat and 40 for the t-shirt. Can't complain, it's all play money anyway.

FWIW, I used Plethoras referrer link. Why not? It's a nice little site, I had some fun with the auctions and scored a few phone cards.

As a rank newbie I don't see the fuss. 2 links, make your choice. And whoever ratted on plethora to Qool was <u>WAY</u> out of line. My humble opinion.
