Apologies to DF and Dopey

I apologize to DF and Dopes for starting the thread that seems to have focussed attention on what I believe is a meaningful milestone and ignited the fury of Apex and the staff.

I've been a member of the site for going on two years now and for almost that entire time have appreciated the contributions made by everyone. Let's be real here, though, certain members make a greater contribution to the community than others. DF brings a maturity and perspective that I have always welcomed and respected. Dopey brings his own perspective and experiences to G|A -- as well as a lot of girlie pics (couldn't resist). Both of these people put a great deal about themselves into the contributions they make and to censor the celebration of this milestone as well as all others reeks of control gone a little to far (unless, of course, there are extenuating circumstances of which I am unaware). I, for one, was very proud when I hit the 500 count.

Again, not withstanding anything extenuating, what's the problem? Regardless of whether Apex, et al., cares to share the reasoning or rationale, I am sorry if my thread in any way contributed to what's occurred here.

Anyway, I hope that GAM and the G|A? staff can remedy this situation as soon as possible, though I know pride is a very hard thing to overcome.

I wouldn't have thought that this would have come down to what it has. I would have thought that this would have been a milestone for both DF and I, BUT and even bigger milestone for the G|A? crew, it shows that they have made a website from nothing and got it popular enough for complete strangers to stick around and join the forums and continue to post for the couple of years that we have been around :shrug:

Exactly. I mean, this is honestly the only site / messageboard I have ever stayed at. I have accounts on other sites, but I don't use them. I enjoy these forums and the people. For being something that was once nothing, it should go to show that it is something powerful and great for the people here. :)

I've been here what, a week or two, and I already love it. I mean...I've been online now for seven years and I have never been so attracted to a message board. I remember laughing at other message boards because they'd have them up, but they would be practically empty and I would think "What is the point?". But now I have been introduced to this message board by Corsec and I see a group of people like myself who enjoy being online. I'm loving this. And I hope, since I just found it, that it doesn't die!

Whats the difference in that thread and someone starting a thread about how fast they've gone in a car? Hey, i went 120... I went 130, I went 180 blah blah blah... Hey, i've got 9.5k posts, hey i've got 9.8k posts, blah blah blah.

Humm. Odd no difference.

Oh well. Like i said, unusually over the border zesty compared to normal from the particular GAM, but oh well. If its that big of a deal, why even HAVE post counts, or badges, or Avatars, or forums, or.... :P

I totally agree with you on this. I also have accounts on other boards, but this is the one I look at day-in-day-out. While I am not a huge poster here (as others are) my voice is still heard on a relatively even level with everyone else here (at least I think so :dodgy: )

In all honesty, I'm glad this matter seems to have been resolved in an amicable manner.

I dont know if I caused it or not, but not having post counts will be interesting.

I probably need to stop posting around here so much myself. I have no clue how many people i piss off because i treat it like my venting spot.

BTW, i wasnt meaning to be rude to the person behind the GAM, cause i like the gam when HE/she isnt posting as the gam :)

I guess i missed a lot of the "post count" threads and didnt see what all was happenning.
