View Full Version : 56K is fast!

On Wednesday, my phone line started developing severe static. I would call people and they could just barely hear me talking. Sometimes I couldn't even get a dial tone.
And the Internet connection. Forget it! I have an icon on my desktop to check my connection speed. Many times I was connecting at 9K. I kept getting booted off, too. It took about fifteen minutes to receive 20 EMails in Outlook Express. And I couldn't connect to any web sites at all.
A Verizon service rep was out a few hours ago and got the outside line fixed. I never thought that I would appreciate dial-up service the way I do now.

We had fast service at work. But for the few sites I visit while at home and the few downloads I make, it's really not worth the extra money.
