Uh, are you putting words in my mouth and bitching about something that I never said?

That's not what I said or implied in the least. Jujubees, Pinkgirl, and Jenny have all posted consistantly for a long time now. I've always respected them and considered them to be intelligent and thoughtful posters. You, however, seem to be quite outspoken and confrontational. You seem to be on a mission to get in everyone's face. Just chill out, okay?

It's not just you either. It's my perception that this entire forum has been a bit bitchy in the past month or so. It creates an atmosphere that I don't quite enjoy and is why I haven't posted much lately.

Percieved exactly. But just like his view is that I get in everyone's face and am confrontational because I express my views, I have a percieved (I guess) view of him having ignorant comments (i.e. in the "coldsore" thread). I guess that's why I percieved that his "bitchy" comment was refferring to females in general. Maybe I was wrong, but then he only knows.

Ummm, and HOW exactly is THAT??? Because I haven't been here for a certain amount of time? I certainly consider myself all of those things and my posts don't negate that. AND furthermore, my being HERE for a certain any amount of time doesn't validate/negate that EITHER.

I guess this is what the kind of attitude GAM meant by making a big deal of post-count, how long you've been here, etc.

Nope. Because you jump at the chance to prove anything that is said about you is because you have been here only a short time. You say you don't want people to act like you've only been posting for a short time, but you mention it every chance you get. I really don't care how long you've been here, but those ladies have contributed so much that I believe you considering yourself in the same boat is a joke. Stop preaching for a second and listen to what others are saying. That I think would make you a little more informed.

That is not true. When I have talked about me being here for a short time it is because that OTHERS have pointed that out. And you are actually doing the same. What I think is a joke is that you feel that you have the right to tell me that I'm not any of those things because YOU feel that I haven't contributed as much. That's your opinion and from here on out, I'm just going to disregard it.

My being those things has nothing to do with being in the same boat with anyone (I wasn't even going there because I hadn't even considered it) OR whether or not YOU think so. With that, this topic is closed as far as I'M concerned.

Napolean made an innocent comment. latingirl didn't know he was making a generalized comment and not towards any group in particular, since she is a relatively newbie.

BE MORE TOLERANT OF OTHERS!

and latingirl, you might be a little more cautious about how you react to things like that until you see others' reactions, since most of us know how others mean things when they say them, since we've probably dealt with it before. ;)

See, thats the problem. You may consider yourself that, but it seems like no one else here does. It takes time to become truely respected. And THAT is exactly how THAT works. Its not you, its anyone new to the forums.

Probably the best piece of advice to ANY newcomer is: "Dont try to come in and act like you run the place when nobody even knows who you are."... and THAT my friends, is true in real life as well. :)
