Hey Dopey, since you're our resident DJ, I was wondering...what's your rate? Got references? What kind of events do you do?
Got a special "event" coming up in a few months so I need a DJ. I figured since you're a member here, you're in the LA area, and seem to know about DJing, I figured I'd ask. Need to get some quotes and what not. Anyway, if you're interested shoot me an email at [email protected] with all the info I need to know.

Also, if ANYONE knows a reliable DJ in the LA/OC area, could you please post some info on it? Thanks :)

PS-Need to have own transportation and equipment. Thanks :D

ok here are my things...

Price - Depends on time and how far I have to travel.

Music - YOu can get access to my collection through the DC, I mean view it through the DC :angel:

um, well I am thinking that this is for a wedding, am I right?

cause I really haven't done many weddings, I think only two. I really don't like to do weddings cause I don't have alot of wedding type music, I prefer to do more non-formal type events

references - well, Nija, ZrEo0 and Pink ;)

I tend to do more youth group things then anything :cool:

Tin foil doesnt fend off the social rays they beam off towards me so that I may have a life though... for that I have to use Aluminumminum foil.

Oh hey Dopey, how do you go about DJing anyway? I know you bring your comp over there and play music, is that it?

well if anyone's interested I'll be your DJ. I'm reliable, I can read and write, I'm pretty computer literate, here's my high quality DJ equipment:

* Sony MZ-N707 Minidisc player
* 9 (Nine) Minidiscs full of great music ranging from opera to trance.
* Music encoded in basically 32kbps or something bitrate (still sounds ok though)
* A couple of flashlights, some are solar & dynamo powered so you won't have to pay a lot for electricity.
* Cambridge soundworks PC Works speakers (2 satellites and a small woofer) --Grade A quality click here (http://www.webreviews.com/9801/pcworks.html) for a review of my speakers.
* My charming personality.

I say you got some competition Dopes :D

Time & Location - Will be on a saturday evening about 6-10 (with maybe a 1 or 2 extra hours). This will be in the Anaheim/Garden Grove area. (like 5 min from Disneyland).

Music - how do i view your list songs? dont know what a DC is :P

yup, this will be for a wedding. We may need a good selection of slower songs. Now if we had a list of requested songs and you didn't have some of them, would you be able to get them? Will it cost me extra?

Thanks for the response & pics. This gives me a better idea of what you can do. :)

I can try to get anything that I don't have ( ya know ;) ) and if you have it you can always provide it!

Oh, I see! ;) hehe ok. That sounds good. We'll probably have a list of requests. My biggest nightmare with DJs is that you provide them with a requested playlist and they don't play it. Heh. Happened in my sister's wedding. :eek:
But I can see that this isn't going to be a problem. :)
Now are the lighting equipment yours too?
So what do you think the quote for a 4 hr block would be? And how much additional per hour?

Thanks Pink for the reference. Good to know you're his milder side :)
