windows 2000 login, password forgotten

my girlfriend's dad forgot his password for his windows 2000 professional login. Is there anyway to get that for him?

theres always a way ;), but how important is it? 2k is pretty secure as far as passwords go, but there is software and services which can do it for you. those are pretty expensive.

there is no way to find out the password without having to download or purchasing software.

i used to use a program called xintruder or intruderx at my college dorms which would retrieve passwords from across the network. i used it to break into other computers on the network, but i dont remember if it worked for 2k. it used the SMB vulnerability to get inside systems. the program is freeware and 100% legit so you should be able to find it with a google search. but you would need to have access to the computer over a network connection to do so.
