What a scam. Screw them. Paying for freeware. No thanks, I barely pay for quality programs, there is no way I'm paying for this crap. I love Trillian, but I'll be damned if I'll pay for it.

I wont pay for Kazaa or Audio Galaxy because their arent entitled to profit from piracy.

I wont pay for Trillian because they arent entitled to make money off of AOL's, MSN's, ICQ's Servers. If AOL wants to start charging for AIM, then I'll reconsider where I spend my money, but as long as AIM is free Trillian should be free.

now dont try to tell me, well you can use .74 for free. That would be like having a public water fountain that gives out water, but if you pay .50$ it will give you cold water.

the difference between aim and trillian is that aol pays for it through advertising and trillian is ad free (at least for 95% of aim users who dont remove ads). aim is being paid for. dont want to pay for it? dont use it, or if you are willing to steal it, wait for a patch or crack or keygen or something, it will be out in a short while.

Arg... I would have donated, but I didn't--and in some ways still don't--trust that Trillian will be around for the long haul. With all the crap AOL was pulling earlier by booting me, I was very leery about donating for a program I might not be able to use. Of course, I still don't think I'd pay for the 1.0 Pro version because of the aforementioned doubts. :dodgy:
