i just bought a 50 pack of fujifilm cd-rs. on the front theres a sticker that says 'up to 40x write speed.' but on the side, in smaller print, it says 'burn at speeds 1x-24x.' fast are these things?

Not to be funny or anything, but I was reading your computer specs. in your sig and it says your burner speed is 16x. Why are you concerned about 40x if you can't even burn that fast, unless you have another burner?

well, i guess it doesnt matter much anymore. man i feel stupid. i was just curious tho. in case i DID upgrade my burner. i think im too cheap tho. unless good deals come up. sorrie for you time.

if possible, delete thread.

i havent seen too many 40x rated discs but often some CDs rated at 24 or 32x will burn at higher speeds. that may be why there is are different labels.

Is it because if you burn data discs it's at 32x but some drives advertise you can burn music/mp3-->wav CDs at 40x. Or some CD-R's can be burned at 40x for music Cd's.

I dunno :shrug:

i didnt know where to post it. yea, it could be classified as hardware. i dunno. its cd-rs. its harmless to have it here. GAM if this is wrong place please move this.

dont worry... my overclocking thread got posted in the... "overclocking thread" by GAM... what a wierd thing to do dont ya think?:D but yea... i have 24x cdr's and i burn em at 40x all the time... dont have any problems... i wouldnt worry bout it much... those are like the recommended... but all of us who "know" computers know the "skys the limit" :angel:

Maybe the 40x just means you can READ them up to 40x. . . hehehe and can only burn at 24x
