View Full Version : Faither's jambalaya thread..(not what you think it's about)

I felt bad that Obby's thread was coup d'etat(ed) and ultimately locked.
Accordingly, I just wanted to share my belief that while everyone is entitled and encouraged to share their opinions, it's pretty rude when people feel the need to just piss on and hijack the purpose of someone else's thread (Hummm, to whom could I be referring? Maybe someone with what seems to be an Alexander Hamilton fetish).
I think DF hit the nail on the head when he summized that for some it's just about getting in the last word.
Maybe after the Relgion Forum is established, Apex can start an 18th Century Political Philosophy Forum. You know, to provide an outlet for those frustrated philosophers, anyone now taking a PoliSci class or anybody currently studying a history chapter in school.
Sorry but that's just how I feel. Okay, I'll assume the position and let the flaming begin.

I don't know what to say, other than this thread was unnecesary and its only purpose was to insult me. I hope you feel better about yourself. You look like a real winner.

Ok, I *don't* like Canta (no offense. :) ). And maybe he should have started a new thread just to discuss A.H., but he isn't the one that STARTED the rude, personal attacking posts...

Ok since we all know Jenny's very cool comment was directed at me, maybe she should get specific in which SPECIFIC rude personal attack she is talking about..*g* I wish Nicemann was here to debate this..he was always one to not show partiality. :)

obby uh...why are u getting so upset at jenny and others? you were just having a common conversation in that thread no problems. but it was turning south. no one is telling u not to speak your mind or something but really it isnt that big of a deal. i got home last night at around 10:45 and went on irc. shortly thereafter jenny said she was going to bed and goodnight and she got off. how could she possibly lock the thread...when she was sleeping? unless she has some magical power (that i certainly want) i dont see how that could make sense. personnaly obby i dont have any problem with gw i wouldnt vote for him but i dont have a problem with him

The only thing I am going to reply to is that yeah, Nicemann is certainly someone to look up to.
Take it from me, people. Not everyone here is the same in real life. I know that from personal experience.

I dont think anyone here really likes me, but thats fine with me. I have strong opinions. If you dont like them, lets talk about it, if you dont want to talk about it rationally, you're only other choice is to ignore me. When you make it personal thats when GAM steps in.

thats EXACTLY why I like you-because you do have strong opinions. And hell every once in a while, a good all out sh|t flinging debate/arguement is good..come on, you know my technically enhanced pirate picture of Alexander Hamilton was Hysterical..just admit it :)
You probably printed it out and hung it on your wall.

I did laugh at the picture. We all know Hamilton woulda been Pres. if he was born in the United States. :P

I went back, read the whole thread again, and I stand by my original post. Other than the fact that the thread was highjacked, it was the following entry that bothered me:
quote Originally posted by mojo:
sorry to say, but...dude, you're badgering.

posted by Cantacuzene:
So when I insult her person, its badgering, but when she insults a politician I like and provides no actual evidence other than hearsay, it isnt badgering?
I am allowed to get defensive too, am I not?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Obby had a problem with a politician (one that's been dead for 200 years) -- they are public figures and that's part of their job. If I can still read, Cant states he's insulting Obby. Mojo even pointed out (nicely) that this was badgering. He still didn't get the point; the thread was locked and I was unable to add my two cents. That's why I started the thread. Do I feel better about myself? Only in the sense that I have now gotten off my chest what I felt I needed to.
You can have opinions -- again, they are encouraged -- but don't start pissing on people, it's rude. If you're going to do it, expect it back.
If you cared as much about other people's feeling as you do your own, this never would have happened.
