ok, so i bought some mini-cdr's for the heck of it. earlier tonight i tried burning one on my plextor. it's kind of old...8/4/32x. usually when i burn a normal cdr, i get a burning speed option of 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x.
but when i put the mini-cdr in, i only get an option of 2x or 4x. so i tried to burn a powerpoint file at 4x onto the mini-cdr but my cd-rom drive can't read it. what gives?
oh, and i'm using "adaptec easy cd creator 4" for the burning software.
so is it the software? or the burner?

the cd is probably only rated at 4x. thats why it wouldnt burn any faster

on the package, it says i can burn from 1x to 24x. but if i'm limited to just 4x, that's cool with me. the problem is that my computer won't read the data after the burn.

It won't read it from the Plexor drive either?

I had this same problem in the past and finally gave up on the mini cdr's. I had two machines one with a HP CD burner and one with an ACER burner. If you check the packaging on the mini CDR you may see a list of burners that they recommend (I ordered some business card cdr's that had a list). I was unable to read or write from the HP writer but I had no problems with my acer. Once the cd was written I still could not read it from the HP but I could from most other drives. I found that they were just to quirky for me.
