so has anyone done psych before? i have to write a paper on a character from a book or movie and pick a problem that they have, and explain it using psychology, and come up w/ a solution using psych...this sound familiar to anyone?

yes I took psych,and like all good psych students-we disected that SYBIL character pretty damn well. We also took a shot at Hitler.

Well....

An ez way to approach this is:

1. Pick a discipline in psych (cognitive, Psycho-analytical, Biological, & etc) and focus on it. For example: If ya going to select psycho-analytical (Freud), ya can state: the root of his problems are repressed and forgotten memories; then examine infantile sexuality and dreams, and go further into the concept of his id, ego, &superego. If ya go in the direction of Biological, just write about some in balance in his dophinine level¡K¡K

Sorry been awhile since my BA in psych¡K.. working with computer now¡K so¡K.the only in balance is Microsoft and Novell.. ƒº

I am going to go with Van Wilder..and try to explain why he is in college for 7 years. i need to find out things about seperation anxiety and developmental stages, and i need to show what he would need to do to leave college....
yea i know he does eventually leave in th emovie, but that does not concern this paper

Since psychology always has something to blame, pick any movie or book , invent a psychologist's name and select one or more scapegoats for their problem:

1) Society
2) Parents
3) School
4) Neighbors
5) Food
6) Drugs
7) Movies
8) Books
9) Music
10)The Internet

There are probably more, but the list would just go on and on.

i did a paper on Sylvia Plath using Freudian psychology. can't stand freud, but she is a fabulous canidate for Freudian analysis... just keep blaming her dad, and sexual frustration, and viola! you have a psych paper! :-p
